A beautiful smile says a lot about you. It instills confidence and makes you feel better about your appearance. If your smile is not as it used to be, or has never been as winning and bright as you would like, you have a number of cosmetic treatment options to help you create the smile you have always wanted. There are a number of cosmetic dentistry problems that can be addressed at Aesthetic Dental Studio.

To learn more, see Common Dental Problems.

Dull or Dingy Looking Teeth

The most popular cosmetic dental treatment is tooth whitening. This procedure can help you brighten your smile with short office visits and no pain. There are many causes of dull or dingy looking teeth, including:

  • Coffee or other beverage stains
  • Chlorophyll laden foods
  • Tobacco use
  • Aging

During the tooth whitening procedure, a special peroxide based agent is placed on each tooth, and then activated with a powerful light. By the time you leave the office, your teeth can be several shades whiter than when you arrived.

Crooked, Chipped or Worn Teeth

Teeth take a lot of abuse over a lifetime and the damage can cause problems with your smile. Crooked, chipped, or worn teeth can be corrected with porcelain veneers, onlays, or inlays.

Porcelain veneers are used to straighten slightly crooked teeth in a process called instant orthodontics. These veneers can be made to fill in gaps between teeth and provide a newer, straighter looking surface. Veneers can also effectively cover up chipped or worn teeth.

Gummy Looking Teeth

The proportion of gums showing in your smile can give the appearance of a gummy smile. There are several causes for gummy smiles, including:

  • Genetic disposition
  • Breathing through your mouth
  • Poor oral hygiene during orthodontic treatments
  • High smile line
  • Short teeth

All of these issues can be addressed with the right type of cosmetic dental procedure.

For more information, see Gummy Teeth.

Missing or Damaged Teeth

With porcelain onlays and inlays, larger cracks or areas of decay can be covered, giving you a newer surface matched to the color of the surrounding tooth. Worn and broken teeth are strengthened with all types of porcelain appliances.

In some cases, a bridge or dental implant may be required to replace missing teeth. The dentist will work with you to help you decide which option is best for your specific condition.
