Smoking for many years or consuming dark-colored food and drinks like chocolate, coffee and/or tea can cause your teeth to yellow and make you appear older than you are. Whitening processes can help you look fresher and take years off of your smile. The Aesthetic Dental Studio provides our patients with two primary forms of whitening procedures: a tooth whitening kit that our patients take home and a deep or power bleaching procedure that is performed in our office.
Power Bleaching for Dramatic Results
In order to rapidly see a big change in your teeth’s color, a power bleaching is probably your best choice. A strong whitening gel is placed on your teeth, causing whitening that can be as dramatic as nine shades from the original color in only two office visits.
How Power Bleaching Works
To keep your gums safe during this process, Dr. Chee will first coat them with a protective solution. The whitener is then activated with a monochromatic light. The procedure takes a few short applications, amounting to a total of 60 minutes. An increase in tooth sensitivity can be expected, but this is generally minor and temporary.
